Shopping for an office Computer Desk
Shopping for a computer desk must meet
the needs of your home or office. Whether it's an office desk or home
computer desk can mean 2 different things. A home desk can look more casual,
subdued and friendly. An office computer desk needs to fit in with the rest of the
office decor and have a professional strong appearance (the color usually being silver,
black or burgandy). The wrong color or inappropriate design can spell disaster for
the "appropriate" office look. Traditional computer desks feature drawers
on the left or right sides (or both). Today, as office space becomes more cramped,
computer desks are becoming leaner; no drawers, open design and sketital. The newer
designs incorporate many of today's top designers. They use compressed wood, some
use glass, and some are adjustable for height and location. Today's modern computer
desks are becoming more people friendly as well as computer smart. They realize the
need for printers, monitors, mouse and scanners. Today's modern computer desks
incorporate the need for all these common modern devices and make appropriate space to
accomodate all of them. Keyboard drawers appear to be another staple design.
Although personally, I am not a fan of desk drawers, many people find them convenient and
easy to tuck away. Convenient CD racks are another common theme. Places to
hold your CDROM programs and the like is a handy feature.
Space spacing designs are vogue today. A single computer desk that can hold many and
all devices are becoming more and more popular. Gone are the days when you required
an L-Desk just to hold your computer, monitor, scanner, printer, keyboard, mouse, and PDA.
Today's computer desk designs feature vertical shelves that are intelligent and
human friendly. Allowing you to access the most common devices conveniently.
Many people, however, rebel against this all-in-one computer desk design. Leda Desk
is a manufacturer that features many of today's modern computer desks. Leda Desk is
located in Santa Fe Springs California and also offer glass desks and down-view desks so
you have the entire desktop for writing. This may take some time getting used to.
Personally, I prefer the traditional desks, give me a foldup table, and I'm happy.
